At Scanner Safe, your privacy is our priority. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains our practices for the Scanner Safe mobile application (“App”), which helps you scan, manage, and optionally back up documents securely. By using Scanner Safe, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Scanner Safe (“the App”) handles your information. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to SCANNER SAFE. If you have questions, contact us at scannersafeapp@gmail.com.
2. Scope
This policy covers your use of the Scanner Safe iOS application available on the Apple App Store.
3. Information We Collect (and Don’t)
We do not collect:
- Contact information (name, email, phone), unless you voluntarily send it to us (e.g., by contacting support).
- Usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or behavioral data.
- Location data.
- Device identifiers used for tracking.
- Documents or images you scan, unless you choose to sync or back up to a third-party service as described below.
4. On-Device Processing
The App processes the following locally on your iPhone or iPad to provide core features:
- Camera input, images, and documents you scan.
- Optional biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID) for app security; biometric data is managed by iOS and not accessible to us.
- Local preferences you set (e.g., language, theme), stored on your device.
No servers: We do not transmit this information to our servers because we do not operate any servers for Scanner Safe.
5. Optional Cloud Backup (Google Drive)
- Account connection: You authenticate with your Google account using Google’s sign-in. We do not receive your password. A token may be stored securely on your device to allow the App to access your Drive as you direct.
- Files and metadata: Only the documents you explicitly choose to back up are uploaded to your Google Drive. We do not receive or store copies of your content on our systems.
- Encryption: The App applies on-device security measures before upload and uses secure transport. Your data remains under your Google account, subject to Google’s terms and policies.
- Your control: You can disconnect Google Drive at any time within the App and/or revoke access in your Google Account settings. You can also delete uploaded files directly from your Google Drive.
6. Purchases and Subscriptions
- In-App Purchases (IAP) are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details.
- We may receive purchase status (e.g., product identifier and entitlement status) via Apple’s StoreKit to unlock premium features on your device.
- Transaction data is used solely to provide the purchase you requested and is not used for tracking or profiling.
7. Crashes & Diagnostics
- We do not collect crash analytics through third-party SDKs.
- If you opt in at the iOS system level to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may share aggregated information with developers per Apple’s policies. We do not use this information for tracking.
8. Children’s Privacy
Scanner Safe is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Data Storage & Retention
- On-device: Your documents, scans, and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Optional cloud backup: If enabled, your content is stored in your own Google Drive account, and retention is governed by your Google settings. We retain nothing on our servers.
- Uninstalling the App removes locally stored data from your device.
10. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or tracking. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety as permitted by applicable law.
11. Security
- On-device processing by default.
- Secure storage of sensitive keys and tokens using iOS facilities.
- Secure network communication when you choose to interact with third-party services (e.g., Google).
No security measure is perfect, but we strive to protect your information.
12. International Transfers
We do not operate servers or transfer your data to us. If you enable Google Drive, data you upload is subject to Google’s data processing and storage locations per Google’s policies and your account settings.
13. Your Rights & Controls
- Access, edit, delete: Manage or delete your documents within the App. You control what is stored locally and what, if anything, is backed up to Google Drive.
- Revoke cloud access: Disconnect Google Drive in the App and/or revoke access in your Google Account settings.
- Uninstall: Remove the App to delete local data from your device.
- If applicable laws (e.g., GDPR/CCPA) grant additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction), you may exercise them by contacting us.
14. App Privacy Label (Apple)
- Data not collected for tracking.
- No tracking across apps and websites.
- Data collection limited to what you voluntarily store on your device or upload to your own Google Drive.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

17. Legal Basis (EEA/UK Only)
- Performance of a contract: Providing App features you request (e.g., scanning, premium access).

18. Note to Users
Scanner Safe does not track you and does not collect analytics or advertising identifiers. Any cloud backup is entirely optional, under your control, and stored in your own Google Drive account if enabled.
